Bio:
Ferdinand Lewis Alcindor Jr., best known as Lew Alcindor, was born on April 16, 1947, in New York City, New York. For high school, Lew attended Power Memorial Academy in New York, where he earned his title of the greatest high school player of all time leading the team to a 79-2 win-loss record.

Lew would become arguably the best college player ever, attending UCLA and making them one of the best teams in sports history. Alcindor was so dominant, the NCAA banned the slam dunk due to his dominance with it. Alcindor led the team to all wins but 2 losses in his entire college career along with three straight national championships. Because of the slam dunk being banned, Alcindor innovated his signature move called the sky-hook, which became the most unstoppable move of all-time and the primary source of his greatness. In 1968, Alcindor would convert to Islam and forever changed his name to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar which means noble and powerful servant of Allah.

Kareem was drafted as the 1st pick in the 1st round of the 1969 NBA Draft by the Milwaukee Bucks. Entering the league, Kareem instantly became All-Star material as a player who redefined his position. With the alliance of Kareem and NBA legend Oscar Robertson, the Bucks would win a championship title in 1971.

In 1975, Kareem began his LA legacy and signed with the Los Angeles Lakers. Kareem would be given the nickname "Cap", short for Captain, for being the leader on the court.
