George "Iceman" Gervin played for two basketball leagues, the American Basketball Association(ABA) and the National Basketball Association (NBA). Gervin played in the ABA from 1972-1976 with the Virginia Squires and the San Antonio Spurs, and during the 1976 NBA Merger, Gervin switched leagues and played in the NBA from 1976-1986 with the San Antonio Spurs and the Chicago Bulls. Gervin is one of the best players of all time known for his elite scoring ability. Nicknamed "Iceman" due to his unique style of smooth style of play and laid back attitude that was deemed cool as ice. George Gervin was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, born on April 27, 1952. Gervin attended Martin Luther King Jr High School then attended Eastern Michigan University where he played for 2 years.
