Larry Bird, nicknamed "Larry Legend", played 13 years in the NBA with the Boston Celtics. Although Bird played for the Celtics his whole career, his prime was during the early 1980's. Bird is widely regarded as the greatest shooter of all time and one of the greatest players of all time as well as the best trash talker of all time. Bird was arguably the most difficult player to stop with a shooting range that was literally never performed before him.

Bio:
Larry Joe Bird was born on December 7, 1956, in West Baden Springs, Indiana and grew up in French Lick Indiana. Bird attended Springs Valley High School, where he found prosperity in the game of basketball averaging 31 points, 21 rebounds, and 4 assists. Because of issues within his family such as his parents' divorce and his father's suicide, Bird focused heavily on the game he loved by becoming one of the best players in the nation. For college Bird went to Indiana University for a short amount of time but dropped out, then later attended Indiana State where he began to make a name for himself. Bird led Indiana State to an undefeated record of 33 wins and 0 losses as a senior. In 1979, Bird and a player from Michigan State named Earvin "Magic" Johnson would play against each other for the first time to compete for the NCAA National Championship. Unfortunately for Bird, Indiana State would lose against Michigan State. Bird would take his loss as motivation to play as best as possible.

Bird was selected as the 6th pick in the 1st round of the 1978 NBA Draft, but because he played in college until his senior year, he joined the Celtics in 1979. Thanks to Bird and his alliances with players like Dennis Johnson, Kevin McHale, Danny Ainge, and Robert Parish, the Celtics reformed as one of the top teams of the league in the 1980's.

Since college, Larry Bird and Magic Johnson were rivals competing at the highest level possible. The same year Bird joined the Celtics, Magic was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers and the Celtics faced each other in the NBA Finals 3 times during the 1980's, with the Celtics winning 1 title against LA in the decade.
