Baron Davis

Baron Davis has played 13 seasons in the NBA with the Charlotte Hornets, New Orleans Hornets, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Clippers, Cleveland Cavaliers, and New York Knicks. Davis was one of the best point guards during his playing era, earning honors such as NBA All-Star and NBA steals leader.

Bio:
Baron Walter Louis Davis was born on April 13, 1979, in Los Angeles California. He attended Crossroads High School where he was a star player who earned Gatorade National Player of the Year and was given a spot in the 1997 McDonald’s All-American game. For college, he attended UCLA from 1997 to 1999 where he averaged 13.6 points and 5.1 assists in his whole two seasons.

Davis was selected as the third pick in the first round of the 1999 NBA Draft by the Charlotte Hornets where he played with guards Eddie Jones and David Wesleyan spent his career for five seasons. In his first season in the NBA, Davis has averaged 5.9 points, 3.8 assists, and 1.2 steals. Although in Davis’ second season, he came back averaging 13.8 points, 7.3 assists, and 2.1 steals and is also credited for making the longest shot in NBA history at 89 feet.

In 2002, the franchise had relocated to New Orleans, Louisiana and was retitled the “New Orleans Hornets”. Regardless of the changes and injuries, Davis was always capable of leading his team to the playoffs.

In 2005, the Hornets decided to trade Davis to the Golden State Warriors where he played with notable players such as Matt Barnes, Stephen Jackson and Monta Ellis for three seasons.

In 2008, Davis signed with the Los Angeles Clippers where he played three seasons.

In 2011, Davis was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers and then acquired by the New York Knicks in the same season.
